"Jewelry should be fun. In the ‘old’ days, there were seashell earrings, gold feet with ruby toenails, rubber jewelry and the like. People had fun with it: it was playful. Now it’s too important. My Crystal Candy collection is fun because I can sit there and play with the pieces. It’s like occupational therapy. I use stones no one else wants, but I think they are truly beautiful. They are minimally faceted as to highlight the so-called imperfections. I like to show what nature has created rather than cutting it away."
